SGBA won the Challenger Trophy 2023

Ghaziabad | Shalimar Garden Bengali Association lifted the Challenger Trophy 2023 by defeating Cricnews24 by runs in a thrilling match. After winning the toss, Cricnews24 captain Jayawardena invited SGBA to bat first. SGBA got off to a great start scoring 52 runs in 5 overs. In the sixth over, Naveen Chauhan showed the way to the pavilion to Ajay Pandit and returned the pavilion by clean bowling Sam on an individual score of 0. SGBA scored 137 runs in allotted 20 overs. Captain Jugal Kishore played a brilliant inning of 42 and Ajay Pandit scored 28 runs. Sumit Arora and Parnab Bose played useful innings of 19-19 runs. Naveen Chauhan, Jayawardena and Harry took 2-2 wickets.

Chasing 137 runs, Cricnews24 team could only manage 122 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 15 runs. Kuldeep Bhati scored 33, Vikas Sharma scored 18 and captain Jayawardhan scored 16 runs. Pradipta Dutta took 3 wickets by giving 32 runs and Jugal Kishore took 2 wi ckets by giving 25 runs. Jugal Kishore was awarded the man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.

The prize distribution was done by DDCA member Padam Singh Chauhan, IIT Factory managing director Naveen Chauhan , SGBA secretary Amit Rai and Cricnews23 Director Alok Seth.
