Ahmedabad| Gujarat Titans easily defeated Mumbai Indians by 55 runs in the 35th match of IPL 2023. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision which proved to be wrong as Gujarat Titans posted a mammoth score of 207 for 6 in allotted 20 overs. Shubman Gill scored 56, David Miller scored 46 and Abhinav Manohar scored 42 runs. At the end of the innings, Rahul Tewatia played an unbeaten inning of 20 runs including 3 sixes in 5 balls. Piyush Chawla once again bowled brilliantly, taking 2 wickets for 34 runs. Chasing a target of 207 runs, Mumbai Indians got off to a very poor start, with skipper Rohit Sharma becoming the victim of Hardik Pandya, scoring just 2 runs. Other batsmen also returned to the pavilion one by one. Nehal Wadhera played an inning of 40 runs in 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. Mumbai Indians could only manage 152 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 55 runs. Abhinav Manohar was adjudged man of the match for his excellent batting.
