New Delhi | Rann Star Cricket Club defeated Vidya Jain Cricket Academy by 6 wickets in a one-sided inaugural match of the 46th Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament. Rann Star Club won the toss and invited Vidya Jain academy to bat first. Vidya Jain Cricket Academy scored 274 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 40 overs with the brilliant 123 runs from Ranji player Hiten Dalal. Hiten Dalal hit 4 fours and 13 sixes during his innings of 123 runs, while other batsmen proved to be a complete failure. Deepak Punia bowled brilliantly and dismissed 3 players for 33 runs.
The target of 274 runs was achieved by Rann Star Club by losing 4 wickets in 29.4 overs. Yash played an unbeaten inning of 99 runs, while Deepak Punia, while batting brilliantly, scored an unbeaten 73 in 35 balls with the help of 2 fours and 9 sixes. Siddhant Bansal and Jonty Sidhu took 2-2 wickets. Deepak Punia was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
The tournament was inaugurated by Sh. Ashok Pratap Singh (Ex-President Board of Trustee Modern School) and Dr. Vijay Dutta (Principal Modern School).
