IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings enter into the final for the 10th time

Chennai | Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 15 runs in the first qualifier match of IPL 2023 and enter to the final for the 10th time.  

Gujarat Titans won the toss and invited Chennai Super Kings to field first, Chennai Super Kings scored a respectable score of 172 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad played brilliant innings of 60 and David Conway scored 40 runs,  Ravindra Jadeja played an inning of 22 runs at the end of the innings. Mohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami took 2-2 wickets.

Chasing a target of 172 runs, Gujarat Titans were bundled out for 157 runs in allotted 20 overs and lost the match by 15 runs. Shubman Gill scored 42 and Rashid Khan scored 30 runs, other batsmen were completely unsuccessful. Chennai bowlers displayed excellent bowling and did not give Gujarat batsmen a chance to play freely. Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Maheesh Pathirana, Maheesh Teekshana took 2-2 wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant batting.
