IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings reach play-off after defeating Delhi Capitals in one-sided match

New Delhi | Chennai Super Kings reached the play-offs by defeating Delhi Capitals by 77 runs in the 67th match of IPL 2023. Batting first after winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings scored a mammoth score of 223 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the 20 overs. Devon Conway scored 87 and Ruturaj Gaikwad played a brilliant inning of 79 runs. Shivam Dube scored 22 runs in 9 balls and Ravindra Jadeja scored unbeaten 20 runs in 7 balls. Chetan  Sakariya took 1 wicket for 36 runs.

Chasing a mammoth score of 223 runs, the Delhi Capitals team could manage only 146 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 77 runs. Captain David Warner played a brilliant inning of 86 runs. Deepak Chahar bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets for 22 runs, with this resounding victory; Chennai Super Kings entered into the play-offs. Rituraj Gaikwad was given man of the match for his brilliant batting.
