Chennai |The magic of the thrill of IPL was seen at M.A. Chidambarm Stadium of Chennai in the 17th match of IPL, but the Captain of Chennai Super Kings and hero of the peoples of Chennai, Mahendra Singh Dhoni missed out in scoring 5 runs in the last ball and Chennai Super Kings had to face defeat by 3 runs at the hands of Rajasthan Royals. Although Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit two sixes in the last over and almost snatched the match away from the hands of Rajasthan Royals, but Sandeep Sharma gave three runs in the last three balls to give victory to Rajasthan Royals in the match. Earlier, Rajasthan Royals scored 175 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Jos Buttler scored 52, Devdutt Padikkal scored 38, Shimron Hetmyer and Ravichandran Ashwin scored 30 runs each. Ravindra Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande and Akash Singh dismissed 2-2 players. Chasing 175 runs, Devon Conway scored 50 and Ajinkya Rahane scored 31 runs for Chennai Super Kings to maintain Chennai’s chances of victory in the match, and at the end of the innings, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja tried hard for win but both the batsmen failed to score 21 runs in the last over of the match and Chennai had to face defeat by 3 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2-2 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin was awarded man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
