Chennai |Mumbai Indians showed the way out of the tournament by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 81 runs in the IPL 2023 Eliminator match with the deadly bowling of Akash Madhwal. Mumbai will now face Gujarat Titans in the 2nd qualifier to enter into the final; the winner of this match will face Chennai Super Kings in the final.
Batting first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians made a strong score of 182 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Cameron Green played a brilliant inning of 41 and Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 runs. Naveen ul Haq took 4 wickets and Yash Thakur took 3 wickets. Chasing a target of 182 runs, Lucknow Super Giants were bundled out for 101 runs in 16.3 overs and lost the match by 81 runs. Marcus Stoinis played an innings of 40 runs, the rest of the batting looked battered in front of Akash Madhwal’s bowling, Madhwal took 5 wickets for 5 runs. He was also adjudged man of the match for his excellent bowling.
